Details : The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Radharaman Institute of Technology and Science (RITS) held a week-long Students’ Training Program on “Green Technology for Sustainable Development” from May 9th to May 14th, 2024. The chief guest of the event, Shri R.R. Saxena, Chairman of the Radharaman Group, highlighted the crucial role of green technology in combating global warming. The distinguished expert Dr. Anil Kumar from Amity University, Noida, delivered an engaging presentation on biomass gasification and its significance in green technology. On the following day, Dr. Anil Kumar continued to deliver his extensive knowledge on solid waste management. During the event the Senior Director Dr. P. K. Lahiri and the coordinator Dr. Rajiv Varshney shared insights into various green energy sources, including thin-film solar cells, artificial photosynthesis, and other sustainable sources like geothermal and tidal energy. Dr. Pradyumna Vishwakarma provided vital information on electric vehicles, their future prospects and explained how hybrid systems integrate traditional internal combustion engines with electric vehicles. Dr. Ajay Singh, Director (RITS) emphasized the transformative impact of such initiatives on students' holistic development and the importance of fostering a sustainable mindset. Dr. Rajiv Varshney, the event coordinator, expertly managed the event, while Dr. Parag Mishra, the Department Head, provided essential support by overseeing logistical aspects and ensuring the necessary infrastructure was in place. The program aimed to equip students with practical knowledge and inspire them to contribute to sustainable development through green technology..
